🌾 Tanzanian Nutritious Porridge
Uji wa Lishe
Uji wa Lishe — Tanzanian nutritious porridge made from a blend of finger millet, sorghum, and maize flours with groundnut paste, sweetened with honey or sugar. The health porridge given to children, new mothers, and those recovering from illness — packed with nutrients.
Uji wa Lishe (nutritious porridge) is Tanzania's answer to the question of how to pack the most nutrition into a single bowl. The combination of multiple grain flours with groundnut paste creates a porridge that is more nutritionally complete than any single grain alone. It is given to weaning children, nursing mothers, and anyone who needs nourishment.
