Cultural Note
The enset feast is the celebration of Ethiopia's most important food security crop — the false banana that has fed 20 million southern Ethiopians for 10,000 years. The communities that cultivate enset have the most food-secure agricultural system in Ethiopia because their crop stores underground for years.
