🥪 Ethiopian Café Sandwich
ካፍቴሪያ ሳንድዊች — Cafeteria Sandwich
Ethiopian Café Sandwich — roasted chicken or berbere beef in toasted bread with berbere mayo, ayib, silsi, shredded cabbage, and jalapeños. The Ethiopian café's signature lunch sandwich — completely Ethiopian in flavour despite the globally familiar format.
The Ethiopian café sandwich is the modern urban lunch — the bread, the mayonnaise, and the sandwich format are international; the berbere mayo, the ayib, and the silsi make it unmistakably Ethiopian.
