🐙 Zanzibar Octopus Salad
Saladi ya Pweza
Zanzibar Saladi ya Pweza — tenderised octopus sliced and tossed with tomatoes, red onion, cucumber, coriander, and a lime-garlic-chilli dressing. The elegant Zanzibar octopus salad — a lighter, fresher preparation than the curry, showcasing the tidal flat catch at its most refined.
Octopus salad is Zanzibar's most refreshing seafood preparation — the tenderised octopus is sliced and served cold or at room temperature in a vibrant lime dressing. The same octopus that goes into the rich curry here reveals a completely different character: clean, light, and briny.
Ingredients
Equipment: Large pot, Knife and board
- 600g fresh octopus — tenderised and simmered until just tender
- 2 medium tomatoes — diced

- ¼ cup fresh coriander
Lime-Garlic Dressing
- 3 tbsp lime juice
- 1 garlic clove — minced
